Subang, 31 March 2010 - S P Setia Berhad took to new heights today in marketing its properties when it unveiled a unique partnership with Firefly. A first in the property industry, the tie-up entails all seven (7) of the airline's European-made ATR-500s carrying the S P Setia brand internally and externally.
This partnership also makes aviation history as no airline in Malaysia has sealed a deal encompassing its entire fleet.
S P Setia Group President & CEO Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin said the tie-up is beneficial to the Group in increasing its brand awareness and also to highlight its latest properties in the air.
"As Malaysia's community airline, Firefly gives us the perfect platform to reach new markets in the country and around the region. We are excited to be leading the way yet again in coming up with new ideas that will help stimulate the property industry," he added.
Firefly flies to 17 destinations from Subang and Penang with passengers coming from the corporate sector as well as tourists looking at domestic or regional travel. Offering 72 flights a day and carrying 4,000 passengers, this presents opportunities for S P Setia to introduce the best of Malaysian properties to locals and foreigners alike.
Liew said the Group has always been at the forefront with its innovative product offerings and marketing campaigns, and is continuously looking at new and exciting ways to introduce its products.
"Although this has never been done before, we believe the partnership presents new opportunities to both developer and airline," Liew added.
Firefly is known as Malaysia's community airline and operates from two main hubs of Subang and Penang.
S P Setia's developments are also in these regions with five projects in the Klang Valley, four in Johor Bahru and two in Penang.
One of the advantages for Klang Valley residents is that the airline flies from SkyPark Terminal, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, making it convenient to fly with Firefly.
"Firefly provides the convenience for many business travellers making day trips. This is one of the market segments that we are targeting for our properties," said Liew.

The campaign, which will run for one year was officiated by Minister for Tourism Dato' Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen at Subang Airport and witnessed by senior management and staffs of both companies.
Ng lauded the developer for thinking out of the box in introducing its brand to new markets and congratulated both parties in coming up with the innovative idea that supports the Government's initiatives in attracting foreign investment and promoting Malaysia in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme.
