SUBANG, 14 November 2014 - Following the overwhelming demand from year-end holidays, Firefly has launched yet another amazing flight promotion. FINAL ROUND RM45 will start with an all-in oneway fare of RM45 to all of Firefly’s exciting domestic destinations. The fare will be up for sale starting now until 30th November 2014, and available for travel from 1st December 2014 onwards.
As 2014 is quickly coming to an end, Firefly looks back at its progress and initiatives during the year. Significant developments were made across the customer experience, in the air and on the ground. Customer experience has been a key focal point, with major upgrades to its aircrafts, route network, inflight service, check-in service, and booking channels. This has seen the airline increase its revenue from the corporate and leisure market and achieve an award by Putra Brand Awards for the Transportation, Travel and Tourism category.
Some of the airline’s most major initiatives were the introduction of a new tagline - Beyond Convenience, the delivery of four (4) new ATR72-600 aircrafts, a new destination - Krabi, a new inter-city route - Ipoh and Johor Bahru, a new inflight menu - Firefly Express Meal, an automated online check-in service, a multi-currency payment option, and a revamp to its online travel portal - Firefly Holiday.
Firefly’s CEO Ignatius Ong explains, “Our journey towards strengthening our new tagline, Beyond Convenience is well underway. At Firefly, our customers are at the heart of all we do. We know that our guests are always on-the-go and value seamless service and that service does not start and end at the aircraft. We aim to provide a seamless travel experience throughout the journey; from booking, to checking-in, to boarding the aircraft. The old tagline Your Community Airline was a success however it was appropriate at that time. With bigger and better products and services now available, a tagline refresh was necessary and Beyond Convenience perfectly reflects everything we embody today. The public can expect to see more branding exercises rolled-out to communicate that new promise.”
“The additional enhanced series of turboprop fleet will be used to complement the growing demand of Firefly’s services with newly added frequencies on new and existing routes. We currently operate 16 aircraft, 130 flights a day, carrying over 6,000 passengers to 10 domestic and 8 regional neighborhood destinations. We’ve grown significantly over the past 7 years where we started out with two (2) Fokker-50s carrying only 20,000 passengers per month in 2007. This year that number has increased to approximately 176,000 passengers per month. With an enhanced business model and larger fleet size, we are going towards the direction as planned and will go on doing what we do best, provide a seamless and pleasurable journey for our customers.
