Subang - Firefly and its online travel portal, Firefly Holiday, report good sales to beach destinations for the upcoming two week school holidays beginning May 26.
Holiday packages to Koh Samui tops the list of holiday destinations followed by beach resort stays in Phuket, Langkawi and Terengganu, said Firefly’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Angelina C Fernandez.
She said: “Koh Samui made up 45 per cent of holiday packages sold to date, with three day/ two night packages being the most popular.
“Beach resort stays remain popular as families and working adults traveling together look for destinations where they can relax, enjoy sea activities and have a respite from the concrete jungle.
“Our golf packages to Batam, Medan and Pekanbaru are also doing well. To encourage family golf vacations, we have also developed spa and shopping packages for non-golfers in the family. For family golf vacations to be successful, we usually tailor-make packages to ensure that non-golfers have plenty to do while the avid golfer in the family enjoys himself on the golf course.
“In addition to selling packaged travel, we also have requests from free independent travelers who choose to purchase only flights from us and combine two beach destinations. We’re seeing good loads on the Penang and Langkawi and Penang and Phuket sectors. Flights between Subang and Koh Samui and Subang to Kuala Terengganu are also doing well as travelers are attracted to the pristine beaches, stunning scenery, local cultures and laid-back lifestyles.
“Popular city destinations are Medan and Pekanbaru in Indonesia. Shopping and sight-seeing are the main draws for leisure tourists. Outbound traffic also comprises Malaysians with family ties there.”
