Firefly announced today in an event today held at Hangar 1, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport that it has completed the fleet change to 5 brand new ATR 72-500 with the arrival of its 5th ATR, 9M FYE, on Monday 15th December 2008 from Toulouse. The event was to mark farewell to its last Fokker-50, 9M-MGI, which has served Firefly faithfully since the start of its operation in April 2007.

Firefly launched its new route from Subang to Johor Bahru onboard its new aircraft ATR72-500 today at 6.55 am. Onboard the flight from Subang was local sensation singing group the Fabulous Cats, who were invited as guest artistes to launch the event.

Firefly launched its new route from Subang to Koh Samui onboard the new aircraft ATR72-500 at 9.35 this morning. On board the flight was guest of honor, Vice President of Tourism Malaysia, YB Dato’ Seri Mahdzir B. Khalid, representing the Tourism Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Azalina Othman Said. Accompanying him on the flight was Assistant Director of Tourism Association of Thailand (KL), Ms Saratwadee Asasupakit, and Firefly’s Head of Communications and Marketing, Ms Angelina Fernandez.

Firefly recently launched its complimentary in-flight refreshments service with guest host singer/songwriter Nurul here in Subang. The complimentary in-flight refreshment is a new and permanent feature on all Firefly flights effective 1st October 2008, another added value of its premium services.
