Firefly commenced its first flight from Subang to the island of Batam, Indonesia today, marking its fourth Indonesian destination to date. Firefly is the only international airline to serve this destination with a direct flight from Kuala Lumpur.

Firefly launched its inaugural flight from Subang to Phuket today. Previously, the airline flies to Phuket via Penang four times weekly.

Firefly's booth at MATTA 2008 has not had an empty chair since the doors were opened at 10am today. Manned by actual sales booth of 25 stations, they had to add more stand alone stations wherever possible to meet the demand of inquiries and purchases.

Firefly, a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines that operates out of Penang and Subang airport has announced changes to its flight schedule from Tuesday 10th March, 2009 to 28th March 2009. Flights from Penang to Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bahru, Ko Samui and Kuantan are now temporary suspended.

Firefly introduced its "unique" route from Subang - Kerteh on 12 January 2009 and today, the route was officially launched by the Chief Minister of Terengganu who together with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd and ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Malaysia Inc. officials.

Firefly launched the opening of its Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport ticketing office today, marking the airline's first storefront in the Klang Valley. Firefly is the first commercial airline to operate out of Terminal 3 in Subang since the move of airport operations to KLIA in 1998.
