Passengers on Firefly's inaugural flight from Singapore were today given a surprise welcome by the Mentri Besar of Perak, Y.A.B. Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir who received them with flower garlands at the ATR 72-500 airplane's doorstep just minutes after Firefly had made its first commercial touch-down into Ipoh, thus reviving air services in Perak.

Firefly's 2nd daily flight of the day departed SkyPark Subang Terminal at 10.35am with a full load of passengers that includes the public, Malaysian media, officials from Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Selangor, and, Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia and the Managing Director of Firefly, with its Senior management team to celebrate Firefly's flight into Singapore.

Sultan Mahmud Airport Kuala Terengganu today reverberated with the sound of kompang and cultural dancing as passengers on Firefly's inaugural flight from Singapore were welcomed by Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Y.A.B. Dato' Ahmad Bin Said, the Terengganu State Exco members and Managing Director of Firefly, Eddie Leong.
