Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said that Firefly's new effort to provide its service from Ipoh to Singapore will help the State Government in state development. The service will strengthen both countries diplomatic better, he said.

The community airline has begun its service tin Singapore from Ipoh on July 12 and the launch took place at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport. State Health, Local Government, Consumer Affairs and Public Transportation Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Higher Education, Science and Technology Committee chairman Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid and the Menteri Besar's advisor on Indian community affairs Datuk S. Veerasingam made the ceremony merrier.
