Firefly targets business travellers from Kuantan to fly to Subang

Kuantan - Firefly is aggressively targeting the corporate segment in Kuantan in its bid to woo more business travellers to fly on the twice daily services between Subang and Kuantan. This service was reintroduced on October 30, 2011 following its suspension in early September 2009 due to lack of aircraft.

Firefly’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Angelina C Fernandez said: “We are the only scheduled airline to offer business travellers the convenience of flying out of Kuantan direct to Subang City Airport. 

“We’re reaching out to new businesses where we will present our corporate travel programme which is specially tailored to meet the needs of business travellers. We offer unlimited flight changes of up to two hours before departure and standby for an earlier flight, both without any additional charges. Those with tight schedules will also find our web check-in facilities a real time-saver as it enables them to skip the airport check-in queue.

“Our survey results show that 70 per cent of our passenger load comprises business travellers. We hope to increase this to at least 80 per cent soon as business travellers are year-round travellers.”

Firefly’s corporate client based in Kuantan, Bredero Shaw (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd Secretary, Lee Siew Kim, said: “We regularly choose to fly Firefly when we have to attend business meetings and staff training in Kuala Lumpur. Flying to Skypark Terminal is the best option due to its close proximity to the city centre. The in-flight services are also good.”

From January to November 2011, Firefly’s Customer Satisfaction Index for its ATR services operating out of Subang and Penang was 99 per cent for in-flight service and 97 per cent for cabin comfort. Fernandez said: “With such good results, we believe we have a winning product with good services that meets the needs of all travellers.”
