Firefly Operates in Subang Effective 29 October 2007
Firefly, Malaysia’s first community airline will commence twice daily flights between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang and Penang effective 29 October 2007.
With the addition of a new route linking Subang and Penang, would-be travelers have a choice of traveling between these two points at a more convenient and cost effective option.
The airline flights will depart Penang for Subang at 7.00 am and 7.30 pm and the return flights to Penang depart Subang at 8.20 am and 8.50 pm respectively. This schedule will cater to day trippers planning for flights out in the morning and for return flights in the evening.
To commemorate the launch of this new route, Firefly is offering a one-way introductory air fare starting from RM 9.99* on a limited basis, now available for booking online at www.fireflyz.com.my as well as Firefly’s call centre (03 - 7845 4543), its flagship sales office in KOMTAR Penang, selected Malaysia Airlines offices and appointed travel agents.
Firefly Managing Director, Eddy Leong said, “This is a welcomed development for Firefly, as demand for air travel is increasing especially to the northern states. With Subang in the picture, we can now connect passengers of central Peninsular Malaysia to their destinations up north at affordable prices and convenient timings”.
“We promote a hassle free and efficient means of travel which meets the demand of travelers who want to get from one point to another quickly and effectively. Subang fits well in our plan, being located close to the densely populated areas in the Klang Valley. With the traveling distance averaging only around 20 minutes to Subang airport, travelers will not have to worry about expensive taxi fares or depart many hours ahead from home to catch their flights at this airport. Moreover, with just a one hour flight time, travelers get to spend more time at their destination rather than on the journey,” he added.
In a related development, Firefly is now allowing government agencies to book and make payments using Government of Malaysia (GOM) travel warrants, a facility for government agencies that use travel warrants as form of payment. This will benefit frequent duty travelers from government agencies as it will make traveling accessible and easy to process.
“This is also the kind of fast moving and effective travel reservation, payment and documentation that most people look for in their travel today, and we are here to provide it,” added Eddy.
