Firefly Offering More Flights Out of Subang

Firefly, Malaysia’s first community airline announced today that it will be flying to Kota Bharu and Langkawi from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang beginning 17 November 2007.

From Kota Bharu, the flight will depart in the morning at 8 am, arriving Subang at 9 am. From Subang, the flight will depart at 9.20 am, arriving Kota Bharu at 10.20 am. As for the Langkawi route, the flight will depart in the afternoon for Subang at 3 pm. From Subang to Langkawi, the flight will depart at 4.35 pm.

On top of the two new routes, Firefly will be adding a third daily flight to Penang at 12.50 pm from Subang. From Penang, the flight will depart at 11.30 am.

The mounting of new and additional flights to and from Subang is the airline’s answer to public demand. The move also echoes the airline’s value preposition to its passengers as more business and leisure travelers are finding ways to minimize time and cost in their travels.

With the convenient location of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, the Klang Valley population now no longer have to travel the distance just to get to the airport for their short haul destinations. This saves their travel time by almost half, explained Firefly Managing Director, Eddy Leong.

“We aim to minimize time and effort in traveling for our passengers. Due to Subang Airport’s convenient location, travelers need not worry about arrangements for expensive taxi rides to the airport, not to mention the one hour ride just to catch their flight. You won’t be waking up in the wee hours just to get to the airport with Firefly. We really are bringing fun back into flying,” he said.

Firefly’s new routes is timely in view of the upcoming festive period and school holidays as this will provide Malaysians with an additional travel option.

Air fare for the two new routes will begin at an introductory price of RM 9.99*. Bookings are now open until the 20 November 2007. Travel period is from 17 November to 29 March 2008.
