Firefly meets Chinese New Year demand for extra flights

Subang: Firefly, Your Community Airline, has announced that it is offering additional flights during the Chinese New Year month of February for the Singapore-Ipoh and Singapore-Subang routes.

“For more than a month now we’ve received many requests from customers via Facebook and our inbox to mount extra flights for the Singapore-Ipoh and Singapore-Subang routes during Chinese New Year. Firefly looks forward to bringing families closer during the Chinese New Year festival and we’re pleased to announce that we will be meeting the surge in demand! Chinese New Year is a time when families get together to renew familial bonds and in a multi-racial country such as Malaysia, even those who don’t celebrate the lunar new year will take advantage of the period to go home for a visit,” explains Ms Angelina Corrina Fernandez, Firefly’s Head of Marketing & Communications.

Additionally, Firefly would like to take the opportunity to wish all passengers celebrating the lunar new year, “A very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!”

In a statement issued today, Firefly has announced extra flights from Singapore to Ipoh on February 7, 2011; and from Singapore to Subang on February 1, 2, 6 and 7, 2011 – schedules are appended below. The flights are opened for sale now through all channels.

These extra flights will supplement Firefly’s existing twice daily flights between Singapore-Ipoh and 42 flights a week between Singapore-Subang. For details, please visit
