“Kota Kinabalu is a gateway to North Asia and to the rest of Borneo Island with many direct flight connections. Additionally, our strong network and code share with Malaysia Airlines and MASwings will further provide seamless travel to our guests and help stimulate the economic growth through the tourism industry for the states of Sabah and Johor.”

“As a Community Airline, it is our privilege to develop routes that are beneficial to the communities. We have started marketing our Kota Kinabalu - Johor Bahru route to Singaporeans and Indonesians. We anticipate business and leisure tourists from both countries to connect to Sabah and even beyond, from our southern hub in Johor Bahru.
The seat factor on the inaugural flight from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu sector today was 98 per cent. Commenting on the load factor, Leong said: “The good load factor is testimony to the great teamwork between Firefly and the tourism bodies of Sabah and Johor in further promoting these destinations.”
