Firefly Is the Official Airline Sponsor of Monsoon Cup 2010
Subang, 8 Sep 2010 – Firefly, Your Community Airline, is once again the official airline and sponsor for The World Match Racing Tour’s (WMRT) prestigious season ending finale, the Monsoon Cup, which would take place at Ri-Yaz Heritage Marina Resort & Spa, Kuala Terengganu, from 30th November to 5th December 2010. Ms Angelina Fernandez, Firefly’s Head of Marketing & Communications said, “It is a privilege for Firefly to be associated with an international event as prestigious as The World Match Racing Tour’s (WMRT). I am sure that the race will thrill all sailing fans in the region and they can expect the 5-days race to be a nail-biting finish. The objective of our partnership is to bring in more visitors from around the region to come and enjoy the sailing race.Our flights from Singapore via Subang to Terengganu will certainly boost the number of visitors.”
In this strategic partnership, Firefly’s sponsor value is RM250,000.00 for the flight tickets to bring the participants and organizers from all over the world to Kuala Terengganu.

For the first time this year, a platform has been set to allow young sailors under the age of 25 from outside Asia to compete in the event through the Asian Match Racing Championship (AMRC), which is a Qualifiers for the Monsoon Cup. The other qualifying event, which will select the sole Malaysian representative at the Monsoon Cup is the Malaysian Match Racing Championship (MMRC). These events take place on 20 – 28 October at Ri-Yaz Heritage Marina Resort & Spa.
