Firefly is projecting a 20 per cent increase in Chinese New Year loads this year
17 January 2012
Subang - Firefly is projecting a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in seat occupancy for the upcoming Chinese New Year festival compared to the same festival period last year.
Routes that are experiencing excellent demand this year are from Subang to Penang, Langkawi, Koh Samui and Singapore.
Firefly’s Head of Marketing & Communications, Angelina C Fernandez, said the increase in air travel to these destinations are partly due to passengers travelling to reunite with their families and loved ones during this festive period as well as holiday makers taking advantage of the long break.
She added: “In a multi-cultural society such as ours, even those who do not celebrate the Lunar New Year will take advantage of the public holidays and do a spot of travelling.
“From past experiences, we’ve also seen demand for travel packages spike during this period, and as such Firefly Holiday has come out with several online travel packages, inclusive of flights and accommodation, to domestic and neighbouring beach destinations covered by our network. The booking period is ongoing until January 31 for travel between February 1 to October 27, 2012. Terms and conditions apply.
“We’ve kept the price of these packages affordable to cater to the mass market. Packages start from RM509 per person on twin share basis for three days/ two nights inclusive of flights from Subang to Langkawi and accommodation at Awana Porto Malai Langkawi. We also offer free and easy packages to Phuket, Medan Lake Toba, Koh Samui and Singapore.
“We’re also offering a four days/ three nights fly and cruise with SuperStar Libra (Penang-Phuket-Krabi-Penang) with return flights departing from Subang to Penang from RM1,249.
