Firefly gives FREE return tickets to Sabah and Sarawak at Monsoon Cup 2010
Subang: Firefly, Your Community Airline will be rewarding two return tickets to its newly announced routes in Sabah & Sarawak, to the daily highest spenders at the sponsors’ exhibition, held in conjunction with The World Match Racing Tour’s (WMRT) season ending finale, the Monsoon Cup 2010. The event which will be from 1-5 Dec at Pulau Duyong, Kuala Terengganu was officiated by Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia today.
Ms Angelina Fernandez, Firefly’s Head of Marketing & Communications said, “It is a privilege for Firefly to have a strategic partnership with an international event as prestigious as WMRT. At this year’s sponsors’ exhibition, we would be promoting holiday packages from 3-5 Dec, to our newest destination, Kota Kinabalu & Kuching which will begin its operations next month on 15 Jan (Kuching) and 24 Jan (Kota Kinabalu), with a new fleet of Boeing 737-800 from the Main Terminal Building of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
“We will also be promoting our reinstated route from Kuala Terengganu to Penang priced at only RM 49 all-in one way. While we jointly promote and celebrate the reinstatement of this route, we are confident that it will enhance the visibility of tourist attractions that these states have to offer,” she added.

Firefly Trivia & On- Stage Contest
To spice up the spirit of the event, purchasers will get a shot at the Firefly Trivia where participant need to identify destination routes of Firefly. A participant who successfully gets five out of sixteen destinations correct will walk away with a mystery gift.
To further entice the crowd, there will be an on-stage contest whereby an individual will be randomly picked to answer a few questions on Firefly.
Judging from other renowned public engaging activities held by Firefly during its previous events, these are sure to be an exciting crowd puller.
Background on Firefly
Firefly began its operations in 2007 and operates a fleet of seven ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft, which in 2011 will increase to a total of 10 aircraft. It currently flies to 19 cities and operates 24 routes within Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
Firefly recently announced the next chapter of its growth with the introduction of its jet aircraft operations with a new fleet of Boeing 737-800 which will operate from the Main Terminal Building of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) starting Jan 2011.
Firefly won the “2010 Frost & Sullivan Value Airline of the Year” award and recently the “Green Initiative of the Year 2010” award by Leaders in Aviation Award in conjunction with the Doha Aviation Summit 2010.
