SEPANG: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) expects to finalise the code sharing deal with India's JetStar Airways next month, says managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Idris Jala.
"I believe in times like this, it is important to have consolidation of code-sharing and we have done it with many airlines,"he said at the Sepang Goldcoast Sdn Bhd and MAS' media presentation night yesterday.
He said MAS would make "proper and prudent moves" in times of recession. "We plan to launch the MH Value Fares for the international sector this month," he said.
MAS had last month launched the Value Fare for the local sector. On talk that Firefly wanted to use LCCT as its terminal, he said: "We are comfortable operating in Subang and have no plan to move to Sepang right now."
He said MAS had seen some "encouraging signs" since the removal of the fuel surcharge for domestic routes but it was too early to comment on the impact.
