Subang, 21 Jan 2009 – Today, Firefly launched the Firefly Mobile Application, a new and convenient option to book flights anytime, anywhere via mobile phone. This is an additional channel apart from the current distribution methods in use which are through its website, Call Centre, Airport and City Ticket offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia as well as in Malaysia Airlines ticketing offices worldwide and travel agents.
"Offering convenience to our passengers is and has always been our top priority. After the completion of our routes expansion in 2009, our focus is now to enhance and offer more convenience and distribution methods to our passengers. The introduction of Firefly Mobile is only the beginning. There will be many more soon," said Angelina Fernandez, Head of Marketing & Communications of Firefly at the launching event held at their office today.
She added, "Our latest survey reports that 65% of our sales are currently via Firefly website and 70% of Firefly's passengers are from the Professional to middle management level. This group of passengers is obviously executives on the move; hence Firefly mobile booking will increase their travel flexibility. Making a reservation is now possible via a mobile phone. This marks our first step in providing a more comprehensive on line experience via a mobile phone or handheld device."
"The introduction of this service provides customers with a new convenient option to book flights with a unique and simplified payment process at a click of a button or just the touch of the screen," Angelina said. "We have experienced exponential growth in mobile lifestyle over the last few years, mobile devices are a vital part of a traveler's life, and Firefly is proud to enhance our representation on these devices."
