15 March 2012
Subang - Firefly will offer online promotional airfares for both local and regional destinations from tomorrow until Tuesday for travel from June 11, 2012 to March 30, 2013.
This promotion precedes Firefly’s move to introduce fuel surcharge for bookings made from March 21 to offset against persisting high jet fuel prices.
COO Shorthaul Malaysia Airlines/ Firefly, Ignatius M.C. Ong, said: “These online deals allow travellers to save on travel costs and stretch their Ringgit further. We also made sure our offers coincided with some local, consumer travel fairs being held in Kuala Lumpur as we know this will further stimulate the market and to grow the segment of free and independent travellers (FIT) whom we are sure will welcome these good deals.
“The FIT segment of travellers is in the 25-35 year age group and usually travels with friends. They book airfares first, and then look for ground arrangements such as hotels and sight-seeing tours upon arrival at their holiday destination.
“We also wish to support the efforts of the travel trade such as hotels and tour operators so they can develop travel packages which will be beneficial to consumers.”
Airfares are from RM25, one way, all-in for travel to these domestic destinations.
From Firefly’s hub in Subang, the sectors are to: Penang, Kota Bharu, Langkawi, Alor Setar, Johor Bahru and Kuala Terengganu.
