SUBANG: Firefly is targeting a 20 per cent increase in sales revenue for its turboprop operation at the upcoming MATTA Fair in Kuala Lumpur, compared to sales of RM1 million made at last year’s fair.
COO Shorthaul Malaysia Airlines/ Firefly, Ignatius M.C. Ong, said: “This year at MATTA Fair from March 16 - 18, we will offer best deals, value add-ons and incorporate shopping into some of our travel and tour packages as we know shopping is an evergreen, year-round activity.
“We will reward walk-in customers by offering lucky dip prizes worth a total value of RM100,000 for a minimum purchase of a travel package worth RM500. The highest spender on each day will receive two Malaysia Airlines tickets to selected regional destinations. The total value of these tickets are RM14,000. The overall highest spender will receive a family gift set worth RM12,000.
“AmBank credit card holders will also be rewarded. For every RM3,000 spent, they will be eligible for a lucky dip and a Santa Barbara bag. AmBank credit card holders who make purchases between RM500 and RM2,999 will be eligible to two lucky dips.
“Our best deals on travel and tour packages will be exclusively available on-site at the travel fair.
“Traditionally, our best-seller had always been travel packages to Langkawi. We anticipate sales to this destination will again do well. Keeping our customers’ interests in mind, we created very affordable packages, from RM319, to this island paradise.
“The most enquired travel package we’ve had participating at previous MATTA Fairs had always been to Koh Samui. This year, we’re providing added convenience to customers by also including complimentary return airport transfers. A three day/ two night free-and-easy package to Koh Samui inclusive of air fare and accommodation starts from RM639.”
Visitors to the Firefly Booth (Booth nos 3203-3214) in Hall Three can expect a choice of no less than 20 destinations, inclusive of regional destinations within the Malaysia Airlines Network such as Bangkok, Bali, Ho Chi Minh, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Package purchases made are for travel from April 1 to either end October or December 31, 2012.
Ong said: “Our online travel portal, Firefly Holiday has developed travel packages to include airfare and return transfers from hotel to selected shopping outlets. Hence our theme for this fair, Fly, Stay and Shop.
“To cite an example, Firefly Holiday’s Johor Bahru shopping package is inclusive of flight, accommodation and a return transfer from hotel to Johor Premium Outlets on the second day. This 3 day/ 2 night package starts from as low as RM359. For every package purchased that is worth RM359, customers are eligible for a RM50 shopping voucher at Johor Premium Outlets and a chance to win prizes.”
Johor Premium Outlets in Kulaijaya has been a shoppers’ haven since its opening in December 2011. It features 80 leading designer and name brands offering impressive savings of 25 per cent to 65 per cent every day.
