Kuala Lumpur - Firefly, Your Community Airline, was voted in as a Superbrand after being selected by consumers who were surveyed across 100 consumer categories. The presentation ceremony held on 15 Nov at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur represents the sixth edition of Superbrands, which is the world’s leading independent arbiter of branding, established in 87 countries around the globe.
Winners of this prestigious award are bestowed the recognition of being the most valued local and international brands as voted by the organisers, Superbrands, after being qualified by a consumer survey conducted by The Nielsen Company Research.
The certificate of recognition was presented to Firefly’s Managing Director, Dato’Eddy Leong by the Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, YB Dato' Seri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob.
Leong said, “Firefly is thrilled to be recognised as a Superbrand. This honour will certainly spur us to greater heights in serving our customers as we continue to be one of the best customer-oriented airlines in the industry, offering an excellent flying experience to all our passengers. This is our way of thanking our customers for their continuous support and trust in our services."
“Firefly will further enhance its services to better facilitate both business and leisure travellers. The introduction of two new additional aircraft last month will lead to increased frequencies on existing routes and will enable new routes to be introduced in the near future. Due to popular demand and as part of the Turboprop operations growth plan, Firefly recently reinstated its Subang-Kuantan route, whereas further expansion plans will be announced in due course,” he added.
In July of this year, Firefly’s Managing Director, Dato’ Eddy Leong had been honoured for his outstanding leadership qualities and was awarded the Global Leadership Awards for Community Airline Sector. The airline had also previously received numerous awards such as the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Value Airline of the Year award and the Green Initiative of the Year 2010 award by Leaders in Aviation in conjunction with the Doha Aviation Summit 2010. Firefly is also recognised as the Best Brand in Aviation for the Brand Laureate 2010.
